ReplyDeleteThey were silicone prosthetics which are custom made to fit the performer. They are sculpted in a material, then moulded and reproduced as another.
The thickness will vary depending on how much it needs to be to create the final look. Ideally, appliances are kept as thin as possible and the edges need to be feather thin to blend off to nothing.
