Im not tanned at all but im not pale white..would bronzy makeup look bad on me?
i dont know if its going to look funny if my face is broze but my shoulders and body arent...annd would bronzy makeup look good with this dress? its for prom :)

My prom is on saturday (May 16th) and I don't wear much makeup, though i'm rather good at applying it ( used to wear it a lot more)

Your dress is very pretty! What you plan on doing sounds good. The only thing I would add to your makeup is black eyeliner (above and underneath in the rim), and a pink blush and lips. This way your smoky eyes will stand out and compliment your dress.

ok so one of my best friends is having a white party....in the middle of winter!! and im wearing this like tiered short white dress but have no idea what to do with my hairand makeup. any ideas? should i go crazy with my eyes...not much of a lips person

If you are a brunette and you are wearing white then assuming your dress is simple I would go for hair down, wavy - with curls at the bottom (hollywood look) and then go for quite heavy smokey eyes. Use a dark brown/blue/black in the corner of your eyes and then a light pink at the other corner. Bring the darker colour under your eye so its on the bottom as well. Use loads of good mascara/fake lashes and then put a really nude colour on your lips - without shimmer as otherwise could look overdone. This works great if you don't wear much lip stuff because you can concentrate more on your eyes and make them the focus of the look.

i had this problem.. dooneys are the only ones i get.. depending on the fabric.. if its cloth i use dish detergent....or shampoo and on the others i just use soap and warm water... and u may want to keep an extra toothbrush.. i use that whenever i get a stain on my dooneys... hope this helps. dont use polish remover it could ruin the color on your dooney! My friend and I (both black, her with more brown toned skin, mine more yellow) have been tossing around the idea of being ';white chicks'; for halloween. go in and ask one of their makeup artists to show you suitable colours for your skin tone and how to apply.. they do amazing make up!!! an asian friend of mine had them do har wedding make up and it was fantastic!!!

1. prime your eyes(if you don't have primer, use concealer and then apply loose powder over your eyes.
2. apply shadow all over lids
3. apply white liner on the inside rim of your eyes, inner corners and under your brow.
4. apply liquid liner on your top lid(make sure not to blink, it will smear on your lids.
5. curl lashes
6. put 2 coats of mascara on top and some on bottom lids.( you want to get as close to the base as possible, i like to put my head up, raise my brows, and kind of squint to get 'em all)
7. use q-tip to wipe off any ';mess'; Clean up the look, and don't forget to blend the white liner on your brows and inner corners of your eye. it's all about blending.

Well I don't know of a particular website for you, but I have a makeup solution that I swear looks good on any skin color! You ready?
1. Apply a bit of bronzer to your face for a gorgeous glow.
2. Put on some skintone eyeshadow a shade lighter than your skin tone.
3. You don't need eyeliner. Just add some clear mascara, for gorgeous looking eyelashes.
4. Next add a light pink blush to the apples of your cheeks.
5. Apply a gorgeous light pink or clear lip gloss to make your lips look amazing!
Trust me, you'll look gorgeous!!!!
yellow is THE worst colour eyeshadow for asian skin, most asian skin has yellow undertones so it will just be highlighting this instead of masking it. best is to use a fuschia/cerise pink eyeshadow like 1 in the ruby and millie range, use black liquid eyeliner on the top lash line and black eyeliner pencil on the bottom, finish with black volumising mascara and a muted pink lipgloss and you are good to go.

since you have a fairly monochromatic dress, i'd go with classic, colorful makeup.
try a natural black mascara, like neutrogena clean lash tint and apply it to top lashes only, then to get your lips really smooth, brush them with a toothbrush for a minute or so. then, apply clear chapstick liberally and press red blush into the chapstick and blend. blush and chapstick i find works better than lipstick because it lasts longer and doesn't get on your teeth!

since you have a fairly monochromatic dress, i'd go with classic, colorful makeup.
try a natural black mascara, like neutrogena clean lash tint and apply it to top lashes only, then to get your lips really smooth, brush them with a toothbrush for a minute or so. then, apply clear chapstick liberally and press red blush into the chapstick and blend. blush and chapstick i find works better than lipstick because it lasts longer and doesn't get on your teeth!

First of all, your eyes are gorgeous, but you would really enhance them if you use brown tones and darker green tones. As you approach the brow area, use a very light tan, as this will make your eyes pop. I wasn't blessed with green eyes, but I wear green contacts and I'm amazed myself on how I can make my eyes look. You said you don't wear much eye makeup, so if you do decide on the white pencil route, put it along the top and bottom lash line, but smear it with your finger and slightly exaggerate the outward corner. White eyeliner is meant to go on your waterline and lightly on your tearducts. Applying a highlight under the eyebrow also opens up the eye. You can use a shimmery white eyeshadow for that. It would be best to use a pencil, it's easier to apply to your waterline. The picture below is the perfect example.

The lips should be bright red, and if its for a party it's a good idea to use a lip base as the colour will stay longer. a little eyeliner couldn't hurt. follow these steps if you want.
1) put white eyeliner on lower lashline only to make tired eyes look more awake.
2) use black eyeliner to fill lower outer HALF and on the top part of your lash line (lid near lashes draw a somewhat thin line).
3) use light copper eyeshadow or beige-ish to bring out your eyes. then very light tan sparkly shadow for brow bone (important...up to eyebrow). i always use maybelline eyeshadow (the four different colored ones) because on the back they explain where the different colors should go to bring out your eye color. love them!!
4) black or dark brown mascara to lengthen and volumize. i recommend maybelline volume express or maybelline full and soft mascara. love those!!!

wow. good answer, buddy (below) lol. well i would go with some smokey dark colors, greys, smokey blues and purples that aren't too intense in the brightness. grey liner that is well blended take the blue along the lash line and blend the purple onto the lid and a little into the blue. make sure the grey is shimmery and take that into the crease of the lid and somewhat to a point. find a shimmery white/light skin tone and blend it along the lower brow line. black mascara perferably with a primer.

wow. good answer, buddy (below) lol. well i would go with some smokey dark colors, greys, smokey blues and purples that aren't too intense in the brightness. grey liner that is well blended take the blue along the lash line and blend the purple onto the lid and a little into the blue. make sure the grey is shimmery and take that into the crease of the lid and somewhat to a point. find a shimmery white/light skin tone and blend it along the lower brow line. black mascara perferably with a primer.

I'm already planning out what I'm wearing to my friend's halloween birthday next school year :P I already have the white skin, and almost black hair. I know she has vibrant red lips, but what about eye makeup? I've been trying to find some snow white videos on youtube but I can't seem to find any. I am blonde with brown eyes and medium-fair skin. There are very few eye shadows I can wear. I read an article recently about WHITE EYESHADOW being a hot trend for 2008.
I decided to try this look. I did all white shimmery eyeshadow, white eyeliner under the eyes with black eyeliner on the top crease and black mascara. I think it actually looks REALLY COOL! Sort of a frosty, angelic, ethereal thing. I decided this is DEFINITELY not a good look for daytime. At night though, I think it's a very cool, dramatic, unusual look.
The one thing though, it looks cool but FREAKY and space age! Has anyone else ever tried this look? Did you like it? Do you think it looks cool? Weird? Do you have any tips on using white eye makeup? I see women of many different races who have natural beauty, yet white American women need the whole shebang (eyeliner, lipstick, lip liner, eye shadow, mascara, etc). to be even considered remotely pretty. The feeling I get from this question is that you're trying to imply that ONLY non-white woman can be naturally attractive which makes you seem somewhat pretentious. Maybe you aren't, but that's just the feeling I got.
Anyways, like someone else said, it's really more of an American thing than a white American thing. It's just the ';look'; of the time; if you look at pictures from other eras you'll notice certain commonalities in the hair, makeup, and clothing styles of those who were considered beautiful during that time. It seems bigger with white women because, obviously, whites are currently in the majority, and most celebrity white women have that sort of a look. I do know what you mean, it's not JUST white women but I totally see where you're coming from.
A lot of people look funny without makeup, but it hasn't got much to do with race. Most celebrity white women have had some plastic surgery because, yeah let's face it, white people generally don't age as nicely as some other races, and if you have work done like that then there's a pretty good chance you're gonna look at least a little weird no matter what color your skin is.
Just on a side note, if you still think it's just a white thing then look at Oprah without makeup. She looks a lot different without it, and she isn't white. But she's still a remarkable person who's accomplished a lot and done a lot of good for other people, no matter how much makeup she wears.

I hardly ever wear makeup...but when i do its usually pretty light...A water based moisturizer for my skin tone.
mascara on my top and bottom lashes...sometimes i may wear eyeshadow..sometimes not.
and depending on my mood...either a red gloss...or a red lipstick. I can stick to blue based reds because im very fair skinned.
but most of the time i wear no makeup just something to keep my lips from getting chapped. I dont think I have too. My skin is pretty clear...my eyes are bright and my hair is nice and shiny.
I used to wear much more makeup in my younger years.

Perhaps the reason women of other races don't wear make-up is that they know nothing will cover up their skin tone and look at all attractive.

So I'm thinking maybe a dark shadow on the eyelid fading up to gray and dominated by a white/glittery shadow. On cheeks, your normal shadow (i dont know what works best with olive skin) but a pinkish natural shade. And on lips shimmery gloss or a shade close to your skin color. Diamond Shine Lip Gloss (I think Maybelline makes it) is the shimmer look I'm talking about.

Your makeup will look timeless and best thing of all is that red lipstick will make your teeth look incredible white for photographs. You could cover your eyelids with shimmery white eyeshadow, and use like a royal blue mascara. add a red lip! otherwise, put white eyeshadow or liner in the corner of your eyelid, brush a loud cobalt blue over the rest of your lid. Add the red lip,and ur golden!

If anything, what you want to do is keep the red shadow on the lid, because anywhere else, it will look kinda gross, like you have a rash, or pink eye or something. With the blue, you could use it in the crease and outer corners. Use the white as a highlight under your browbone, and that would all come together nicely. Also use the white in the inner corners, and make sure you blend it all out completely, so there won't be any harsh lines, as you are working with some pretty dramatic eyeshadow colors.

maybe you could get some kinda sparkly eyeliner thats blue, and for the eyeshadow you could use red white and blue, and kinda fade them into each other, and you could even get fake colored eyelashes! :)

My homecoming dance is today, and I don't know how I'm going to do my make-up! I was thinking about using white eyeshadow or eyeliner or something. But I don't know how to use it! It really depends on the color of your eyes and hair. It looks great with brown eyes and hair, but I have seen it done w/ blondes also.Lots of it on your top lid corner to corner and white eyeliner on the bottom lashes. White make-up is really pretty and it looked really great on Amanda Bynes in the movies. look at your skin tone and decided if its a nice warm tone with golden tones or a beautiful pale with blue or yellow undertones. white will look good with those undertones. Now if your skin doesn't have those undertones try using a beautiful light purple lavender on the eye lids with a deep brown or black eye liner on the top then dust a darker purple on the ends of the eyes to give it that sultry look. The with a white liner line the inner bottom lash line to keep that sweet and subtle look and open up those eyes. follow that by a sweet pretty nude pink lip color

It really depends on the color of your eyes and hair. It looks great with brown eyes and hair, but I have seen it done w/ blondes also.Lots of it on your top lid corner to corner and white eyeliner on the bottom lashes. White make-up is really pretty and it looked really great on Amanda Bynes in the movies. look at your skin tone and decided if its a nice warm tone with golden tones or a beautiful pale with blue or yellow undertones. white will look good with those undertones. Now if your skin doesn't have those undertones try using a beautiful light purple lavender on the eye lids with a deep brown or black eye liner on the top then dust a darker purple on the ends of the eyes to give it that sultry look. The with a white liner line the inner bottom lash line to keep that sweet and subtle look and open up those eyes. follow that by a sweet pretty nude pink lip color

Hair: Blonde highlights often look really FABULOUS with brown hair. If dying hair isn't for you, then a good style is to swoop your bang, (if you don't have bangs then swoop a piece of hair over to the other side of the part) and bobby pin it underneath.
Clothing: Cream colored shirts sound like they would match your hair and skin tone, some nice printed tank-top shirts would also be a good canidate. Shirts that have some kind of seam across the chest (just under the breasts) then poof out a little look great on just about everybody.

If you want to put all the attention in your eyes, you should be moderate with your lips, and viceversa. My hair has a long layers style and it lloks beautiful. And my outfits are a little bit sexy and a little bit innocent. You shoul wear outfits that makes you feel sexy and comfort. But the most important thing is you are happy with yourself

How fun! You will have a great time at your dance. You sound as though you look similar to me so Ill tell you what I did when I wear a white dress.
1. For my eyes, I use light silver along the eyelid and in the inner corners of my eyes. I also use a little along my lower lash. Then I follow by a black gel liner (Bobbi Browns is awesome, but there are many cheaper ones as well). Extend the liner a little farther than your natural lash line for a dramatic effect. In the crease and outer corners I use a small bit of sparkly black shadow. Smudge it out so it blends well. This should give you a smokey look without being too much.
2. For skin I would use a foundation with lots of bronzer instead of blush.
3. For lips I would do somthing very nude and shiny, I will make your eyes ';Pop';
5. For hair I would blow out with a large round brush, and curl with a curling iron using the iron straing up and down to create a soft wave.
Good luck and have fun, you look GREAT!

oh i forgot: use eyeliner to create the Egyptian look, you know extend the eyeliner a little further than your actual lashes.

Depending on your skin type, here are some great masks to try. For oily skin use some plain Milk of Magnesia, rub it on and let dry, then rinse with lukewarm water. It absorbs oil wonderfully!
For Normal/combination skin mix one egg and 1/2 cup cooked instant oatmeal and a teaspoon olive oil until smooth. Spread on your face and leave 15 min then rinse.
For dry skin, mix one egg yolk, one teaspoon honey and a teaspoon olive oil and some vitamin E oil if you have it. Smooth on and leave on for 15 min. , rinse in lukewarm water and pat dry. If your skin is a bit dry you can put a dab or two of either olive oil, or any other light oil, or plain crisco if you want something heavier, on your moist skin after washing or a mask and your face is set without the $$ some people spend for the same look.

Depending on your skin type, here are some great masks to try. For oily skin use some plain Milk of Magnesia, rub it on and let dry, then rinse with lukewarm water. It absorbs oil wonderfully!
For Normal/combination skin mix one egg and 1/2 cup cooked instant oatmeal and a teaspoon olive oil until smooth. Spread on your face and leave 15 min then rinse.
For dry skin, mix one egg yolk, one teaspoon honey and a teaspoon olive oil and some vitamin E oil if you have it. Smooth on and leave on for 15 min. , rinse in lukewarm water and pat dry. If your skin is a bit dry you can put a dab or two of either olive oil, or any other light oil, or plain crisco if you want something heavier, on your moist skin after washing or a mask and your face is set without the $$ some people spend for the same look.

Hairspray.. Spray it on the spot and then use a little soap and scrub it in circular motions.. If that doesn't work. bleach never hurt. There is that bleach pen you can get so that it will only treat that spot.

Red and White Fairy Makeup?
I'm being a fairy for halloween. I have a red dress, red and white striped stockings, red headband with strands hanging down, and black and red wings. I have a tatto of wings that goes above the eye and the other half below the eye but i dont know what to do with the red of my makeup. You need to buy the correct shade of foundation. It sounds like you're currently wearing a shade that's too light. I need help with makeup for myself. I have such trouble finiding stuff. See, my hair is dark...DARK black, like freakishly dark and then my skin is snowy white. And then, my eyes are topaz I can't find anything that looks good on me. Work with the blue in your eyes as opposed to the gold flecks. Try very light shade silver, pearl color, shades of topaz etc for the shadow. The best way to experiment is to go to the make-up counter at the department store and tell them what I just told you. They'll choose colors for you and apply them to see how they work with your skin and hair. You don't have to buy everything or anything. While they're working on you don't just close your eyes. I had a white and red dress for my wedding and I would highly reccomend to go very light and natural with the makeup, don't wear more than you normally would. I used Arbonne makeup (my aunt is a consultant) it's all natural, I used the bare mineral foundation, it's so light and it barely feels like you're wearing makeup, then just used natural tones for my eyes, I didn't want to be too made up and it ended up working out perfectly- our pictures came out great too- I don't look like someone I'm not.
